Location
Bad Ragaz lies at the end of the Tamina Valley and on the western edge of the Rhine plain. The village forms the tourist centre of Sarganserland. To the east, the municipal border coincides with the cantonal border with the canton of Graubünden, which runs along the Rhine; the neighbouring Graubünden municipalities are Landquart, Maienfeld and Fläsch; the neighbouring St. Gallen municipalities are Pfäfers to the south, Mels to the west and Vilters-Wangs to the north-west. The large alpine areas of Halde, Rafigen, Pardiel, Valplona and Hochpardiel are located on the mountain massif in the west. A section of the Wildseehörner mountain range in the Pizol region belongs to the municipality of Bad Ragaz.
