The dominant feature of Hitzkirch, which gives the lower Seetal its name, is undoubtedly the architectural ensemble of the magnificent baroque St. Pancratius Church and the neighbouring Teutonic Knights' Commandery. The parish has long had an important integrative effect on the entire Hitzkirch Valley. This is because some of the neighbourhoods do not have their own church. The time-honoured Teutonic Knights' Commandery, founded in 1237, had a decisive influence on the culture of the valley.
